A fun, family and dog friendly community event with a Vendor Village open to people of all ages and abilities. We are excited to announce that our 2019 run will consist of both a 5k and a 10k on a flat course. In order to maintain a more intimate, unique experience for our supporters, our 2019 event will also be capped, so make sure to register early to guarantee your spot!
Thanks to our incredible supporters, our 1st Enormous Elephant Run in LA (held on March 10th, 2018) in support of elephants and the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust USA was a big success and far exceeded our expectations, selling out with over 1,100 participants and raising over $100,000 for wildlife conservation. We are deeply appreciative to all of our participants, spectators, sponsors, and vendors for helping to further the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's mission of conservation in Kenya.
Please be aware parking at our race location is extremely limited! We strongly advise arranging to carpool or rideshare with Uber, Lyft, etc. for easy drop off.
No storage is provided at our race location so we advise participants to only bring items they can carry with them. DSWT accepts no responsibility or liability for any personal belongings at the race.
We appreciate all of the contributions runners make to The Enormous Elephant Run: Freestyle. Your registration fee covers the cost of organizing and hosting this year's event, while your fundraising efforts and team building benefits the elephants in our care and those living wild.
If you don’t have our VIP fast lane registration (one of the perks of the Premiere Package registration!) and want to avoid the long lines on race day, pick up your registration packet the day before the run on Friday, March 8th, 2019 at A Runner’s Circle, 3216 Los Feliz Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90039 from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, March 8th. There is street parking nearby.
Wear your running gear, ellie costume, tutus or whatever you fancy to show your support for elephants! There is no place to change, so please come dressed and ready to go.
Both races start promptly at 9:00am. We’ll be setting off in waves with runners first, joggers next and walkers, families, and dog walkers last.
Dash across the finish fine with your furry friend in style! Registration for dogs is only $10 and comes with a lightweight DSWT dog bandana. You can register Fido to attend this event under the Additional Purchases section (towards the end of checkout). All participating dogs must remain leashed and be non-aggressive towards other people and pups.
Volunteers are needed! Please contact development (at) sheldrickwildlifetrust.org if you or someone you know is able to help out on race day.
The run does not have any age restrictions, but our maximum distance is 10K, so be mindful that it is a bit of a distance.
Yes, however, we have plenty of people walking and strolling... so no rush. All physical abilities are welcome!
